In this post, we will discuss one of the most common factors that impacts recovery – Snoring!
Our throat muscles relax during sleep causing the back of the tongue to fall gently into the airways.
Snoring is the sound created by the vibration of the tongue each time air is inhaled and exhaled during sleep!
Snoring results in oxygen levels to drop in sleep!
study corelating snoring with recovery
As can be seen from the above graph, snoring significantly impacts one’s nightly recovery, and hence should not be ignored!
Snoring Index: # of times per hour your Oxygen Level Drops due to Snoring!
Above 20 events/hour (once every 3 mins), one’s recovery fall’s below the ideal 90% level.
At 60 events/hour (once every min), one’s recovery is about 60%!
